Heidi Yardley

B. 1975

Melbourne-based contemporary artist Heidi Yardley creates scenes of mysterious temporality. Using found imagery, she subverts ideas around nostalgia, placing the viewer as voyuer to her strange, beguiling world. Cultural memory, desire and loss pervade her work.

Yardley is currently undertaking a PhD at Curtin University. She is an Archibald, Wynne, Sulman and Doug Moran National Portrait Prize finalist. She has held residences in New York, funded by the Ian Potter Cultural Trust, and is represented at Artbank, Gippsland Art Gallery and the University of Queensland. In 2011, Art Collector Magazine listed her as one of Australia’s 50 most collectable artists.
