banks-lisa-landscape-18599
Lisa Banks 'Griffith Park, Afternoon Light'

Lisa Banks is a Melbourne-based artist who works across painting, drawing and mixed media collage. In her ever-evolving artistic style, Banks often uses vibrant and contrasting colour to challenge traditional understandings of genre, drawing from her local and everyday life, and re-imagining its artistic potential.

In ‘Griffith Park, Afternoon Light’, Banks crafts a landscape composition using a distinctly abstracted approach. Drawing inspiration from the world around her, Banks distils nature into colours and organic forms. The effect is immediate - through challenging what we understand a landscape to be, this painting exists in a world between the familiar and the unknown.

Over her career, Banks has exhibited in group and solo shows across Melbourne. She has been a finalist in several award awards, including the Len Fox Painting Prize, and the Benalla Nude Art Prize, and in 2024 she was the winner of the Small Works Art Prize at Brunswick Street Gallery. For collectors of abstract works, or those looking for a creative approach to landscape painting, Bank’s paintings are a vibrant and joyful discovery.

Lisa BANKS
'Griffith Park, Afternoon Light' 2026
oil on linen
Image Size: 81 x 100 cm
Dimensions: 81 x 100 x 3 cm
Signed: Signed and inscribed with title and year on verso.
Comes with Letter of Provenance
Condition:Excellent:
(c) The Artist or Assignee
