Love Birds is an avian ode. In his distinctly emotional prose, son of Charles Blackman, Auguste Blackman affectionately reminds us of the preciousness of life and love. On the inspiration for this work, he muses:

"The story goes, I spied peaceful doves cooing and courting on my fence line. These were a most exquisite dance witnessed from my balcony. I immediately put pen to brush to canvas..."

Auguste is a respected Australian artist who has consistently exhibited for almost forty years. That he is the progeny of revered artistic dynasty the Blackman family, contributes a unique perspective to his work.
