brown-cathy-coastal-meandering-18586
Cathy Brown 'Coastal Meandering'

Ballarat-based artist Cathy Brown is best known for her evocative landscape paintings representing recognisable Australian vistas. Often working in oil, Brown’s works offer intimate impressions of the land, representing the world as she sees it - familiar and quietly compelling.

In ‘Coastal Meandering’, the landscape is captured in motion. Inspired by the artist’s walk through a national park, there is something distinctly Australian about this scene - watching the trees swaying in the breeze, one can almost taste the salty sea air. Through this painting, Brown evokes the quiet, rustic beauty of being immersed in nature.

Brown has exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions across Victoria and has been selected as a finalist in several national art prizes, including the Bayside Painting Prize and the Hornsby Art Prize in 2026. Brown’s impressions of the Australian landscape would make a joyful addition to any collection.

Cathy BROWN
'Coastal Meandering' 2026
oil on wood panel
Image Size: 20 x 30 cm
Dimensions: 23 x 33 x 5 cm
Signed: Signed LR and inscribed with name, title and date verso.

Comes with Letter of Provenance

Condition: Excellent

(c) The Artist or Assignee
