Accomplished printmaker Joel Wolter’s work are reminders of transience. He is interested in the potency of a single moment — perhaps dusk or dawn, where in stillness the movement of time suddenly reveals itself. ‘View of Geelong’ is a beautiful landscape. Day curdles into darkening blue, Geelong stretching into the distance, the day almost over. Represented at the Geelong Gallery, the State Library of Victoria, Parliament of Australia and Victorian College of the Arts, Wolter’s work strikes a chord with all who view it.
