Julian Martin is a contemporary artist with autism. He has worked with Arts Project Australia – an arts organisation that supports artists with intellectual disability – since 1988, holding exhibitions in Melbourne, London, New York and Paris. ‘Not Titled’ is a supremely balanced image. The colours are rich and engrossing, burning bright against the taupe backdrop. There is simultaneously a sense of harmony and energy, extroversion and introversion. Martin was a finalist in the Dobell Drawing Prize in 2021 and has collaborated with Gorman. For collectors of contemporary abstraction, Martin is a spellbinding find.
