Andrew Sibley is a well respected English-born, Australian artist. Marked by its diversity, his career covers psychic, national and natural ground.

In this work, he envisions an upturned car. Cast in the same orange as the desert, the machinery appears like rock - a gnarled monument of the collision between man and land. Above, a periwinkle blue sky emanates heat.

Sibley is represented in most public collections including the National Gallery of Victoria and Parliament House, Canberra and is the subject of three books, including a 1993 monograph by Sasha Grishin.

An edition of this work is represented at the National Gallery of Australia. With unexpected elegance, ‘Nature wins at Anna Creek Siding’ is a dramatic, sun-drenched treasure for collectors of important Australian art.
