turner-mick-foots-beach-18689
Mick Turner 'Foots Beach'

Mick Turner is an artist of multitudes. Famed as the guitarist from rock back the Dirty Three, Turner is also a respected visual artist – having spent most of his life painting. His works are mysterious, informed by the naive art movement, 19th century impressionist and pop art. They move between characters and landscapes, rich in colour and ambiguous in meaning.

‘Foots Beach’ exemplifies Turner’s practice. A vision of Foots Beach in San Remo, Victoria, it sees a tempestuous inky ocean mirror the sky. Headland cuts the indigo. There is a dreamlike sensibility to the composition, an emotional life that burns without precision.

For collectors of contemporary landscapes or fans of Dirty Three, discover Turner’s other side – a masterful painter who leaves the viewer guessing.

Mick TURNER (1960 - )
'Foots Beach' 2020
oil on linen
Image Size: 62 x 76 cm
Dimensions: 62 x 76 x 3 cm
Signed: Signed, dated, and titled on verso.
Comes with Letter of Provenance
Condition:Very Good: Describes a work of art's image as Excellent, but may show some small signs of surrounding wear to paper or frame.
