Based in Melbourne, Wang sees her artistic practice as an extension of her academic studies, including her doctoral research into computer science across visual art. Drawing on her experience creating 2D and 3D visualisations for virtual and augmented reality technologies, Wang uses painting to explore the symbolic significance of landscapes and space, often turning her attention to the local streetscapes of Brunswick and Melbourne’s inner north.

In her painting ‘Across the fleeting blue 2’, Wang represents an urban street. Rendered in a softly toned palette and expressive, gestural brushstrokes, the scene is transformed through Wang’s distinctive visual language, with the artist's chosen copper medium gifting the scene a luminous quality. Familiar yet atmospheric, the landscape becomes a quiet ode to the character of everyday life.

Wang has exhibited extensively in solo and group exhibitions and has been selected as a finalist in several national art prizes. In 2026, her painting ‘Weekday Rain on Albion Street, Brunswick’ was selected as a finalist for the Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. For collectors drawn to local Melbourne landscapes, or those enamoured with painterly impressions of urban life, Florence Wang is a gem to discover.

Florence WANG
'Across the fleeting blue 2'
oil on copper
Image Size: 20 x 30 cm
Dimensions: 23 x 33 x 4 cm
Signed: Signed 'flo' verso.
Comes with Letter of Provenance
Condition:Excellent:
(c) The Artist or Assignee

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0499/8229/files/wang-florence-across-the-fleeting-18558_47ffa1e9-8353-40e6-804c-131d9c6795b1.jpg?v=1792458234
