David Hart was born in the rural town of Broken Hill, New South Wales. He is the son of iconic Australian artist Pro Hart who has also been a major influence on his work. David's  work has been described as "illustrating life" in bold expressive lines, inspired by the world he observes all around.

Hart's work is in private collections throughout the world including Europe, the United States and the United Kingdom including. He is collected by Nicole Kidman and former Australian Prime Minister, John Howard.
