Harry Rosengrave
B. 1899 – 1985
Born in Victoria, Australia, Harry Rosengrave was a painter and printmaker. While studying part time at the National Gallery School, George Bell School and Melbourne Technical College, he earned a living as a public servant in the Postal Department and in the Department of the Army.
From the 1950s, Rosengrave began producing lithographs and other prints; he also exhibited his paintings alongside Fred Williams and John Armstrong in 1951. While Rosengrave’s prints have been collected by the National Gallery of Australia, a lot of his work was lost to a studio fire in 1968.
