Jill Noble
B. 1962
Jill Noble was one of the founding members of Melbourne’s Roar Studios, an early artist-run-initiative. Between 1982 and 2000, she and artists like David Larwill, Mark Schaller and Pasquale Giardino produced work that acted as a proverbial roar against the art establishment, imagining a new model for exhibiting and sharing art.
Since Roar Studios, Noble has honed her aesthetic, developing a style that finds elegance in simplicity, producing a sense of peace and whimsy in the viewer. A collectable contemporary artist, she is represented at the National Gallery of Australia and National Gallery of Victoria.
