John H. Taylor

B. 1921 – 2012 


Born in Melbourne, John H. Taylor commenced art studies at Footscray Technical College in 1939. His studies however, were interrupted by the onset of World War II where he served the armed forces. After returning from war, he resumed studying art, later going on to the George Bell school. 


Best known for his impressionistic landscapes and linocuts, John H. Taylor’s work can be found at the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria and Geelong Gallery.
