Margaret C. Francis
(1909-1987)
Margaret C. Francis (1909–1987) was an Australian artist—known for her diverse body of painting, monotypes, and design work. Like her sister, Francis was a student of The George Bell School, often working with watercolour, pastel, charcoal, monotype, and ink. Her varied subjects ranged from everyday city scenes, figurative studies and still life depictions. Francis participated in group exhibitions and her works were frequently included in those held by the Melbourne Society of Women Painters and the Melbourne Contemporary Artists.
Her works are held in the collection of Heide Museum of Modern art.
