Mexican and Latin American Art

Acquired by a private collector nearly fifty years ago, in the 1970s, and kept in pristine condition, this selection of works by Mexican artists is a veritable time capsule of Mexican art from the early to the middle of the 1970s.

Many of the artists, including Arnold Belkin, Guillermo Ceniceros, Luis Nishizawa, and Fanny Rabel were among the most respected mural artists, whose murals to this day adorn public buildings in Mexico, the United States, and South America; while Rudolfo Nieto and Rodolfo Morales are considered as seminal figures in the evolution of so-called Oaxacan School.

The important aspect that unites all artists in this selection of works is their passion for printmaking. Esther Gonzales, Rodolfo Nieto, and Enrique Climent are especially renowned for their experimentation with complex printing techniques. Many of the prints in this selection are notable for their bright colours, textural qualities, volume, dimensionality, and surface reliefs.

These rare to the market prints are a must-have for emerging and established connoisseurs of international art and print collecting.
