Michael Peck
B. 1977
Born in Melbourne, Michael Peck is an accomplished contemporary artist. A figurative painter, his work raises questions about the relationship between culture and nature, as well as progress and conflict. Without offering clear answers, he invites the viewer into a realm of ambiguity, mystery and emotion.
In 1998, Peck won the National Gallery of Victoria’s Trustees Award, was a finalist in 2010 Dobell Drawing Prize, the 2005 Metro Art Award and the 2013 and 2014 Sulman Prize. His work is represented at the National Portrait Gallery and Monash University, as well as throughout private collections nationally and internationally.
