Noel McKenna

Noel McKenna is one of Australia's most established contemporary artists. In fact, the National Gallery of Victoria has crowned him the best painter of Chihuahuas in Australian art history - a compliment that speaks to his curious affinity with animals. His oeuvre is populated with lonely figures and their pets, pattering through scenes that are somehow mundane and utterly enchanting. Equal part forlorn and humorous, his unique vision has and continues to win fans.

McKenna's work is represented in most prominent public collections. He is also the recipient of many prestigious prizes, including five times for the Trustees Watercolour Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
