Yvonne Boag

B. 1954

 

Yvonne Boag is a contemporary Australian artist known for her vibrant abstract interpretations of the rural Australian landscape and coastline. Born in Glasgow and later moving to Australia, Boag has experimented with a range of different mediums throughout her career, ranging from paintings, prints and drawings to sculptures and mixed media works. Primarily based in Sydney, Boag currently spends her time between Australia and South Korea.

 

Boag has exhibited extensively in Australia and South Korea throughout her career, in both solo  and group exhibitions. Holding both a Diploma and Master of Fine Arts, Boag has also taught at major art schools, and in 2012 she was appointed Adjunct Associate Professor at Sydney College of the Arts. 


Boag has received several awards, including the Paddington Art Prize in 2020 and Calleen Art Prize in 2015. Her works are held in numerous collections across Australia, including the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the National Gallery of Australia.
