Delivery Methods

Australia Post

Small to medium unframed works of art are sent via Australia Post with signature upon delivery. Works on paper are either flat packed between cardboard or rolled into a crush-proof tube. If small enough for Australia Post, works that are framed or stretched on canvas are packed with bubble wrap in sturdy packaging.

It is our policy to not send works with glass via Australia Post. In such cases, we will either opt for a fine art courier, can remove the glass at no extra cost or work with you to devise a custom solution.

Once your work has been shipped, you will receive a tracking number which you can plug into the Australia Post website

Non-Specialist Couriers

Non-specialist couriers may be engaged when a collector resides outside of or in a remote region of Australia, and the work of art is too fragile (i.e. framed with glass, a sculpture, large or made of an unstable medium) for Australia Post.

Typically, we use Pack & Send. We do not book Authority To Leave parcels.

Specialist Fine Art Couriers

If a work of art is fragile or rare, and destined for a relatively accessible region of Australia, we will book a specialist fine art courier.

We work with a range of specialist couriers who travel along the east and west coasts of Australia. They will liaise with you prior to arrival to finesse the delivery time.

Click and Collect

You are welcome to Click and Collect your work of art. If the work was framed with us, you can pick it up from either the framers in Hawthorn or our Fitzroy showroom.

An appointment may be required – to organise one, call us at 0499 184 964 or email hello@artandcollectors.com. We are located at Level 1, 165 Gertrude Street, Fitzroy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you guarantee delivery by a specific date?

No. Delivery times are subject to factors beyond our control. Couriers will provide a time frame within which to expect delivery. They will be in contact as that period approaches to firm up the exact date and time.

That said, if you require a work by a specific date, reach out and we will do our best to accommodate. If the work is a gift, please provide as much time in advance as possible.

Do you insure works of art for transport?

Some couriers provide formal insurance, others do not. If you would like formal insurance for your work in transit, it may accrue an additional charge and is provided by the third party carrier, such as the courier company. Reach out if so.

We do not take any responsibility for damage during transit.

Can delivery of multiple works of art be combined?

Yes, multiple works of art can be combined and delivered to a single address at discounted rates. Please contact us for a revised quote.

Do you post framed works of art with glass?

Please note that Australia Post does not take responsibility for breakage of glass in an insurance claim. Therefore all works of art behind glass will have the glass removed, free of charge, before packaging and delivery.

My work of art was damaged when it arrived, what do I need to do?

In the unlikely event of a work of art arriving damaged, please contact us immediately. We require photographic documentation of the work’s condition; please also keep the original packaging.

If the item was insured for transit we will assist in any insurance claim. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions page for further information.

Can I organise my own delivery?

Yes. If you like to organise your own delivery method, please be in touch to organise.

Are all works shipped from Fitzroy, Melbourne?

All our vendors however, dispatch from within Australia.
