Melbourne-based artist Vivienne Adeney is recognised for her vibrant works that often reflect her experiences being outdoors, and her own relationship to nature. Often working in a woodblock printmaking, Adeney distinctly harnesses the sensual qualities of this chosen medium - preserving the grooves of the carving and highlighting the tactile wood grain to offer tangible representations of the natural environment.

In 'Dip', Adeney's intricate linework and patterns act as a vessel for the flowing rhythms of water. In icy blues and deep, earthy browns, the artist uses this work to reflect her own abstracted interpretation of a body of water. Adeney’s work is nostalgic, rooted in a deep relationship to bathing and natural cycles of rejuvenation.

Adeney has exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions across Australia and she has had prints commissioned by the Print Council of Australia. Her work is held by major public collections in Australia and internationally, including the State Library of Victoria, RMIT University Collection, and the Bandung Institute of Technology Collection in Indonesia. For collectors of landscape art and admirers of nature, Adeney’s works are certainly a compelling find.
