Born in Milan and based in Florence, Pietro Annigoni spent his artistic career reviving the Renaissance. With the same drama and depth as the Old Masters before him, Annigoni was esteemed most for his portraits, the subjects of which included Queen Elizabeth II, the Pope, British and American political leaders and members of European, Middle-Eastern and Indian aristocracy.
The subject of a feature documentary, Annigoni is represented in the British Royal Collection, Vatican Museums, Metropolitan Museum in New York, Uffizi Gallery and Pitti Palace in Florence. For admirers of the Renaissance, high society and Italian art, this work promises to enthral.
