Originally painted in 1956, 'Dreaming Alice' is among Charles Blackman's most iconic images. Starring Lewis Carroll's Alice, the scene rings of Blackman's then wife and muse Barbara, in whom he recognised Alice. Eyes closed and blissfully unaware of the swirling world around her, Blackman's Alice is suspended weightless beside swelling flowers, a symbol of his wife's pregnancy. Caught between worlds, 'Dreaming Alice' is quintessential Blackman.

One of Australia's most iconic artists, Charles's work speak to us all. To live with his visual poetry promises to be an ever-enriching experience for you and your family. For admirers of the artist and his legacy, rest easy with 'Dreaming Alice'.
