Charles Blackman stands among Australia's most beloved and collectable artists. In 'Night and Day II', he depicts a boy poised to snap a picture with a roll of suburbia curving beneath him. Most likely drawn from his personal life, Blackman's work is always tender and intimate, frolicking between nostalgia, reality and fantasy. Intimate yet dream-like, this work is more interested in distilling a feeling than a realistic scene. With excellent provenance, 'Night and Day II' is a wonderful find.
