‘The Drama’ was born from Charles Blackman’s fascination with the theatre. While living in London, he looked after Max Nicholson’s collection of plays - many of which he read to Barbara Blackman, or saw performed. Interested in the universality of these stories, ‘The Drama’ speaks to the personal and profound. Melting from shadow to light, these figures express anxieties through provoking the fragility of human connection.
This limited-edition pigment print is initiated by the artist, blind-embossed with the Blackman seal, produced on museum-grade materials, and accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity.
Living with the powerful imagery of one of Australia’s most beloved and collected artists Charles Blackman, promises to be an experience you and your family will treasure.
