Eolo Paul Bottaro is an Sicilian-Australian artist who, because of his devotion to Renaissance techniques and figuratism, has been dubbed the Renaissance man. In ‘The Dog Fight’, his mastery over composition is clear. Fanning across the page man, eagerly watching two dogs strain to attack.
‘The Dog Fight’ is a story in a single frame. For collectors of contemporary prints, this work is an unusual and thought-provoking find. It comes from Rona Green’s curation of fifty prints, exhibited at Geelong Gallery.
