David Boyd, member of the Boyd family dynasty, is among the great feelers of Australian art. In this work, he returns to one of his favourite myths, inspired by his brother Arthur. With the angelic Europa as protagonist, David imagines her Antipodean adventures. Flurried yet totally charming here she befriends a wombat.

Boyd traverses themes with dexterity and wit. He was a master potter, painter and printmaker, who is represented in all state collections and continues to resonate throughout Australia today.
