Ballarat-based artist Cathy Brown is best known for her evocative landscape paintings representing recognisable Australian vistas. Often working in oil, Brown’s works offer intimate impressions of the land, representing the world as she sees it - familiar and quietly compelling.

In ‘Sandringham Sunset’, the Victorian coastline comes alive with colour. Rendered in golden yellows and warm pinks, the beach is infused with a sense of tranquility and stillness. Through Brown’s eyes, the subtle beauty of the end of day has been captured atmospherically.
