An Australian-Macedonian artist, Violeta Caprovska’s etchings hang in pictorial harmony. She arranges forms across the page – translucent blushes of colour beside blocks of opaque pigment, lines dancing between them. In the absence of figuration, the viewer is invited to consider meaning without literalness, how forms can evoke peace, contemplation and beauty.
Capovska's work is represented across public collections including at the National Gallery of Australia, Ballarat Fine Art Gallery, National Gallery of Macedonia, Museum of Contemporary Art- Skopje and Museum of the City of Skopje. She was the recipient of the James Northfield Lithography scholarship in 2016. In 2021 she won 2 months Art residency at the Cité International in Paris.
For collectors of abstract and contemporary art, rest your eyes on ‘Silence II’ – beautifully framed and ready to hang.
