What is printmaking devoid of ink? Michael Cleary’s ‘Untitled’ challenges the conception of “works on paper”, existing only as indented paper. Like a sculptor kneading clay, he creates a pattern by manipulating the paper’s surface, allowing the fall of light to reveal or conceal his work.
Ghostly, elegant and unexpected ‘Untitled’ is a refreshing find for collectors of contemporary and abstract art. In its slightness, lies a lasting impression.
