Warren Cooke’s ‘I, The Doctor’ is a linocut print. It is striking in its simplicity – a disembodied head eyeing off the viewer, half shrouded in shadows. Who is the doctor, what is he confessing to?
Cooke is an experienced printmaker, having worked at Australian Print Workshop where he helped produce editions. He has exhibited at Benalla Regional Art Gallery, and has been a Fremantle, Burnie, CPM National and Silk Cut Prize finalist. For collectors of contemporary linocut, ‘I, The Doctor’ is a commanding find.
