Acclaimed contemporary artist Tamara Dean’s photographs invite contemplation. They are meditations on our connection to nature and the rites of passage we pass through, lingering long after first sighting.
In ‘The Edge’ we encounter an adolescent beneath a waterfall. The water looks like a beam of light; the boy appears divine. He is on the precipice of nature’s grandeur and manhood, silver in the hushed forest, luminous yet introverted.
Dean is the recipient of the Moran Prize for Contemporary Photography and represented across public collections, including at the National Gallery of Australia and in New York at the Francis J. Greenburger Collection.
For collectors of contemporary photography, her romantic visions are a must.
