James Farrar is a Melbourne-based artist and printmaker best known for his large-scale, monochromatic linocut prints. Through his intricately detailed compositions, Farrar constructs deeply imaginative worlds that draw on his personal identity and experiences of being an adopted Korean man in Australia. His works often possess a psychological intensity, transforming elements of memory, belonging and selfhood into richly layered visual narratives.

In 'Veil of Embrace', Farrar presents an intimate scene of two figures held in a tender embrace. The work is rich in the artist’s distinctive visual language, drawing on a recurring lexicon of motifs and characters that appear throughout his practice.
