Sarah Faulkner was a founding member of Roar Studios, one of Melbourne's earliest artist-run-initiatives. Conceived as a proverbial roar against the art establishment, Faulkner and her colleagues set about dismantling society's expectations of image-making.

In her role, Faulkner liberated painting, forging a neo-expressionist style that treats art as a journey. Vibrant, intuitive and unexpected, works like Benos place feeling first, drawing the viewer in with every glance.

An esteemed artist, Faulkner is represented at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne and continues to be avidly collected.
