Kevin Foley is an accomplished Australian printmaker and experienced art educator based in regional Victoria. Foley’s practice is deeply contextualised by his life on a small farm near Mia Mia in Central Victoria. Focusing on the reality of rural living, he describes his work as a meditation on his “relationship to the landscape”.

In ‘Alone at dusk’, the artist captures the striking profile of a tree silhouetted against a sepia-toned field. Dominating the landscape, the tree is the central focus - a monolith in an otherwise bare landscape. Representing the reality of rural Australian living, ‘Alone at dusk’ is a compelling meditation on the transition of the day to night.

Foley’s compelling prints feature in both private and public collections, including the Dubbo Regional Gallery and the Royal Melbourne Hospital. For collectors of contemporary Australian printmaking, or those enamoured by the natural Australian landscape, ‘Alone at dusk’ is a striking find.
