Madeleine Goodwolf is an exciting contemporary Australian artist who works predominantly in printmaking. Based in Tasmania, her artworks have featured in exhibitions both nationally and internationally, including in Germany, where she has worked as a printmaking tutor. In 2003 she co-founded the Tapir Print Workshop.
Goodwolf’s etching ‘Late in the day’ is a striking work of art. Juxtaposing silhouettes of flowers against rich, sepia-hued landscape, Goodwolf imbues this artwork with an almost cinematic quality. Suggesting the dryness of the sun-soaked landscape, this work of art immediately transports the viewer to somewhere warmer.
With her artwork included within the collection of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery in Hobart, Goodwolf has established herself as a promising contemporary printmaker. For lovers of colour-rich prints, ‘Late in the day’ is a striking find.
