Based in Kyneton Victoria, Karan Hayman is inspired by the regions “endless skies”. Rather than just see the landscape, she feels it – producing imagery that moves with the earth’s curvatures. In ‘Three Together’, she paints nestled boulders glowing like embers. A road carves between them, an artery running between shoulder blades. There is a sense of surrealism, balance and tranquility.

Hayman was a founding member of Melbourne’s Roar Studios. Among the city’s first artist-run-initiatives, this studio pioneered raw, primitive and intuitive art – acting as a proverbial roar against the art establishment.

Today, Hayman is represented in numerous public, private and corporate collections in Australia and abroad including at the National Gallery of Victoria, ArtBank, New Parliament House and the National Gallery of Australia. For collectors of abstract landscapes and Roar art, ‘Reflection’ is an enlightening find.
