Cliff Jones is a highly accomplished printmaker. His work trades in the kind of effortlessness that can only be wrought by a master. ‘Life Class’ is a twist on life drawing – an artistic convention born of sketching a life model in a studio. Rather than a study of anatomy however, this work is surreal. It pictures a molten mass of bodies, faces and torsos twisting together in a dreamlike enmeshment. 

Jones is represented in multiple public collections including the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the National Gallery of Australia. He is the recipient of multiple printmaking awards and has exhibited widely. For collectors of prints and images of the human body, ‘Life Class’ is a hypnotic find. It will transfix you.
