Helen Kennedy is a contemporary printmaker and multidisciplinary artist based in Melbourne. Working across multiple mediums, Kennedy’s work is not about the landscape, but instead focuses on our experience of it. Through her works, Kennedy investigates the influence that light has on our perceptions of form and colour, and her artistic practice often transcends categories of figuration and abstraction, working “in the space between the two”.

In ‘Nightpath’, Kennedy takes the viewer for a walk. Through her monochromatic palette, the artist creates a landscape that is suffused in light - silvery tendrils moonlight decorate the night, reflecting gracefully on the ocean. There is a cosmic quality to the scene, a fusion between sea, land and sky.
