Across a career of nearly forty years, Australian artist Malcolm King has traversed the boundaries between mediums. He works across painting, printmaking, photography and digital collage to raise questions around our relationship with the land. Rather than exact, King evokes the feeling of place, calling on the viewer to recognise the urgent need to protect the natural world.
This work is an original digitally-rendered print. Intricate and brightly coloured, it presents an abstraction of landscape – lines and shapes colliding to evoke ecosystems, life and the feeling of connecting with nature. It is titled 'Biirinbah to the Sea', with Biirinbah representing the Yaegl Nation's name for the Clarence River in Northern New South Wales.
For collectors of experimental prints or those who care for the environment, King’s work is a vibrant find.
