Peter Kingston's landscapes capture the charm and texture of life on the Australian coastline. Never straying too far from the cities he knows best, he creates tiny universes within his work, treating each as an opportunity for visual storytelling. Witty, recognizable and infinitely delightful, Kingston is driven by a deep and genuine adoration for the places and people he depicts.

This charming screenprint titled ‘The Blue Line’ is typical Kingston. Taken from a high vantage point, Kingston depicts a quintessentially Australian coastal scene, from games of beach cricket to sunbathers lounging in the golden sand. His visually-rich and whimsical scenes draw us in, make us laugh, and create a sense of nostalgia for summers that have passed us by.

Kingston has exhibited nationally and internationally since 1978. He is represented in most major national collections, as well as public and private international collections. In 2004, he was the subject of a monograph entitled Harbour Lights: the art of Peter Kingston. For fans of Kingston, let The Blue Line’ bring a smile to your lips.
