Damon Kowarsky is an esteemed contemporary artist. He is inspired by architecture, the colours of the earth and sky, and the relationship between nature and non-natural worlds. Across his practice he has worked in printmaking, drawing and illustration, creating imagery informed by his frequent travels around the world.

In his 2026 etching 'Lin Daiyu, Xixi', the Melbourne-based printmaker imagines Lin Daiyu, a legendary figure of Chinese literature, in a pavilion on the edge of the Xixi Wetlands near Hangzhou. Lin Daiyu, a character renowned for her beauty, gazes out over the water, contemplating the stillness. A vibrantly imaginative work, this work is highly reflective of Kowarsky's time spent living and working at Guanlan Original Printmaking Base in China, and engaging with the local culture.

Kowarsky has received numerous awards since graduating from the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts. He is a current brand ambassador for Faber Castell and has been awarded the Toyota Community Spirit Artist Travel Award and Collie Trust Scholarship in recent years. He has featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions internationally in institutions like the Warrnambool Art Gallery, the Islamic Museum of Australia and Megalo Print Studio.

For those enamoured with contemporary printmaking, Korwarsky's works are a compelling addition to any collection.
