Driven by a zest for life, David Larwill is akin to fresh air. As a founding member of Roar Studios in Melbourne, his approach to life and art represented an affront to the status quo. Reveling in his inner-child, Larwill married exhilarating spontaneity with aesthetic sophistication to produce work that makes you feel, not think.

In Trip, he carves out a face from his life. Always autobiographical, Larwill was a free spirit who had a nickname for everyone.

Represented in most public collections and many international and national private collections, Larwill remains among Australia’s leading figurative expressionists and a champion of the joy of art.
