Artists Statement:
This painting is a psychological reinterpretation of good and evil, where I've left the viewer wondering whether it is our cute friend Gizmo, or that water born Germlin fiend? Part Roy Lichtenstein meets Francis Bacon, I'd described it as a Cubist twist bring together two popular culture icons to create a fresh perspective.
While expressed using icons, each painting is also born out of a personal experience. This painting was born out of giving my daughter a new pet guinea pig. Cute, furry and wide eyed, it was an instant hit. Playfully patting it one day, those two tiny front teeth nibbled at my thumb. Underestimating it's strength, I had my first shock experience, of guinea pig teeth piercing the skin. A common pet moment.
Here's a wonderful opportunity for you to express the personal gift of creativity. This colourful and original painting from highly collectible artist Philippe Le Miere will enliven your space. This is a unique opportunity to own a treasured conversation piece.
