This print by Leonard Brown is entirely unique - as a monotype, it is one of a kind. In ‘Untitled’ monochromatic abstract peaks roll across the paper surface, like a film reel slowing down. Brown’s print calls to mind the moment when the illusionary quality of film is revealed to be nothing more than a series of still, near identical images - an exercise in repetition through a non-reproducible medium.

Brown’s practice is one of stark contrasts, with his output equally split between abstract compositions and a dedication to Byzantine period iconography.
