Michael Leunig was an iconic Australian cartoonist, writer, painter, philosopher and poet, best known for his cartoons published in the Sydney Morning Herald and Age newspapers over 55 years. Spanning the political, cultural and philosophical, his visual world was one of whimsy, wit and a deep humanity.

‘The Pot’ is a rare original etching. In it, Leunig envisions his quintessential protagonist cooking happily, a plume of steam erupting from his pot. Charming and textured, this work is an ode to the minor moments of beauty that make up ordinary life.

As special as it is rare, ‘The Pot’ is hand-signed by the artist and provenanced from the Leunig family's private collection. It is a wonderful find for collectors of contemporary prints and domestic chefs.
