Marion Manifold is an artist and academic based in regional Victoria, best known for her intricate and highly detailed printmaking practice. In her 2014 linocut series 'French Threads – For My Children’s Children', Manifold constructs a highly imaginative world populated by symbolic motifs and enigmatic figures. At its centre, a female figure appears as though she has stepped from the pages of a historical tale. Dressed in an elaborate gown, her face is obscured, creating a striking sense of mystery while heightening the work’s dreamlike and narrative quality.

Widely recognised for her exceptional printmaking practice, Manifold’s work is held in private and public collections across Australia, including the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of Ballarat and the State Library of Victoria. She has been selected as a finalist in several national art prizes and has exhibited extensively in solo and group exhibitions throughout Australia and France.
