Kiata Mason is a NSW-based artist who has become well renowned for her vibrant and eclectic still life paintings. In each of her paintings, Mason creates considered compositions of household and everyday objects to construct intriguing scenes and narratives. Describing her practice, Mason has said "I think people will always be fascinated by stories, and still life is one very good way to express them". In this way, each of her paintings are rich with a sense of the domestic space, painted exactly as she experiences it.

In ‘Mixed Offerings’, Mason artist captures a dining room mid-dinner party - a stack of cookbooks peeks into the frame, a freshly-cut lime waits to be squeezed, a roast chicken still hot from the oven takes centre stage. In this vivid table-scape, the artist’s deliberate composition and bright contrasting palette allows her to construct a scene that is immediately immersive, inviting the viewer into the dining room, hungry and ready to feast.

Mason has exhibited extensively throughout her career, and her works are held in numerous private and public collections, including the Muswellbrook Regional Art Gallery and the Coffs Harbour Regional Art Gallery. She has been a finalist in several national prizes, including the Sulman Prize, the Paddington Art Prize, Still: the National Still Life Award, and the Portia Geach Memorial Award. Mason was also selected as a featured artist in Amber Creswell Bell's 'Still Life: Contemporary Australian Painters". For collectors of vibrant and compelling still life paintings, Mason’s works are a joy to discover.
