Florentina Munteanu is a Melbourne-based, Romanian-born artist best known for her atmospheric oil paintings, spanning across landscape, portraiture and intimate still life scenes. Her works convey a sublime sense of tranquillity, with the artist often capturing the quiet beauty of everyday life.

In ‘Clouds over the Ranges’, Munteanu creates the impression of a vast and expansive landscape, with mountain ranges stretching towards the distant horizon. Rendered in a softly toned colour palette and delicate, gestural brushstrokes, the vista is layered with a dreamlike haziness. Amidst the clouds, the suggestion of a tree emerges, while the indistinct shape of a mountain appears in the distance.

Munteanu has exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions across Australia, as well as internationally in Italy and the United Kingdom. She has been selected as a finalist in several national art prizes, including the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize. For collectors drawn to atmospheric landscapes and quietly evocative paintings, Munteanu’s work offers a joyful discovery.
