This rare original graphic from the 1970 s is by one of Australia s most respected and influential abstract artists, John Peart. Driven by experimentation, Peart' s oeuvre was varied and marked by a continual evolution rather than any fixed style.

After initial success as a 'Field' artist in the late 1960s, Peart evolved his practice towards minimalism and then later, to a style specifically inspired by Australia. His life was was a spiritual quest and mark making was a process of 'becoming' through aesthetic perception. He described his non figurative response to nature thus:

"I see pictorial space as an inner landscape for the minds eye to roam".
