Our current exhibition, ‘A Seat At The Table’, is centred around a literal and proverbial table. The literal table is an antique, bearing happy scars from its former life at a Japanese polytechnic school. Now, it’s where we work and eat, share art and ideas.
It even hosts the occasional dinner party.

Proverbially, the table is a metaphor for the banquet of art history - a call for women to pull up chairs where historically, little room was made for them. Around a table, connection happens. Conversation unfolds. Change begins.
As the year progresses into the cooler months, dinner parties take on a warmer, more inviting charm. Hosting, in many ways, is its own creative practice. A memorable evening depends on the careful balance of atmosphere, food, company, and conversation. When each is thoughtfully considered, the result is something far greater than a meal. And while we may not be able to refine your menu or perfect your seating plan, we can offer something equally transformative: art.

Art has a singular ability to shape a room. It sets tone, sparks curiosity, and offers guests something beyond the expected rituals of small talk. A striking work on the wall can become the evening’s focal point - a visual entrée that invites reflection before the first course is served.

A considered curation of art also keeps conversation alive. Where seasonal chatter can often circle familiar ground, art opens wider pathways: thoughtful, playful, personal, and unexpected. It creates dialogue that lingers long after dessert.

A truly memorable dinner party is not simply about entertaining. ‘A Seat At The Table’ recalls how the domestic has the potential to change the world; hang beauty and thoughtfulness around the dining room table, and a party to remember will bloom.
